Delete your RowHQ account
You can delete your RowHQ account at any time. Here is how to do it, and exactly what happens to your data.
Applies to the RowHQ app and website. Last updated: 26 July 2026
How to delete your account
In the app or on the web
- Sign in to RowHQ.
- Open My Account from the menu under your name.
- Scroll to Delete my account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
Your account page is at app.rowhq.app/profile.
By email
If you cannot sign in, email support@rowhq.app from the address on your account and ask us to delete it.
We will verify it is your account, then action the request. We aim to respond within 30 days, as UK GDPR requires.
You have 30 days to change your mind
When you request deletion, your account is locked immediately and you are signed out. Nothing is erased for 30 days. Sign in during that window and you will be offered the option to restore your account exactly as it was.
After 30 days the erasure runs automatically and cannot be undone.
Deleting some of your data, without closing your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to get rid of something. Most of it you can remove yourself, straight away:
| What you want gone | Where to do it |
|---|---|
| Your profile photo | Your profile, then Remove photo |
| An erg score or training record | Erg logs, open the score, then Delete |
| Your address, phone number or emergency contacts | Your profile, clear the fields and save |
| Your Concept2 Logbook connection | Your profile, Connected accounts, then Disconnect |
| Your calendar subscription link | My Account, then Reset link |
| Your membership of one club | My Account, find the club, then Leave |
For anything else, email support@rowhq.app from the address on your account and tell us what you want removed. We will confirm it is your account, then action it, and we aim to reply within 30 days as UK GDPR requires.
Two things we cannot remove on request while your account is open: your club's record of fees you have been charged or paid, which it must keep for its accounts, and messages or notices you have posted to your club, which form part of the club's own records. Both are covered in more detail below.
What gets deleted when you close your account
Across every club you belong to, we permanently delete:
- Your name, email address and date of birth
- Your password and any Google or Apple sign-in link
- Your profile photo
- Your member profile, including address, phone number and emergency contacts
- Your erg scores and training records
- Your qualifications and any certificate files you uploaded
- Your notifications, push-notification registrations and calendar subscription link
- Any Concept2 Logbook connection
- Guardian links to or from your account
- All active sign-in sessions
What we have to keep, and why
Two things survive deletion. Neither identifies you afterwards, because the account they point at no longer holds your name or email.
Payment records
Your club's record of fees charged and paid stays in its books. Clubs are required to keep accounting records, and deleting them would leave the club's accounts wrong. These rows point at an anonymised account.
Things you posted to your club
Messages, notices and attendance history belong to the club's own records rather than to you alone. They stay, but they stop showing your name and show "Former member" instead.
A note about your club
Your rowing club decides what member information it collects and keeps. RowHQ provides the software. If you want to know what your club holds about you, or you want it corrected, contact your club directly. We will help your club action any request you make.
If you own a club on RowHQ, you will need to transfer ownership or close the club before your own account can be deleted.
Want a copy of your data first?
Before you delete, you can download everything we hold about you as a single file. It is on the same My Account page: Download my data (JSON).
