What does Row HQ do for a rowing club?

Row HQ keeps the working life of a club in one system. Members confirm outings and book boats. Coaches plan crews from live attendance. Committee volunteers manage subs, records, communications and reports without rebuilding the same information in separate spreadsheets each season.

Use the rowing club app for everyday club life. Dedicated pages explain how it fits school rowing programmes and university boat clubs, where squads and annual handovers need extra structure.

Three views of the same club

Useful at the landing stage and after the AGM

Each person sees the work that belongs to them. An attendance change made by a member is ready for the coach and recorded for the committee.

Members

Turn up knowing the plan

Members can see the next outing, confirm availability, reserve a boat and keep their own club details current without chasing a group chat.

Coaches

Build crews from live answers

Coaches get attendance, rowing profiles and fleet availability together. Late changes stop being a hunt through messages five minutes before boating.

The committee

Keep the club record with the club

Membership, subs, safety records and reports remain usable when officers change. The next committee inherits a working system, not somebody else's files.

The mobile apps cover the quick jobs people need before an outing, while the same account remains available in a browser for detailed admin.

  • Members can confirm attendance and review session details.
  • Personal and squad information stays behind each user's login.
  • iPhone, Android and browser access use the same club account.
iOS and Android apps now available Use Row HQ in any browser or install the iOS or Android app.

Why clubs switch

Less duplication. A cleaner handover.

The Row HQ versus spreadsheets guide shows where disconnected files start costing volunteer time. The Oundle Town RC case study records the change at a real committee-run club. For the wider category, visit Rowing Club Management Software or use the rowing club software comparison before deciding what belongs in your club.

Questions UK clubs ask before a demo

Straight answers on support, moving data, pricing, branding and federation work.

Paid clubs email the founder team directly during UK business hours. We help new officers understand the dashboard, check member imports and answer setup questions on a video call when useful. There is no outsourced support desk between your committee and the people who built Row HQ.

Yes. During onboarding we can bring across names, contact details, emergency contacts, membership categories and subscription status from CSV, Excel or Google Sheets. We review the result with your committee before members use it. Clubs can also keep the old sheet alongside Row HQ briefly while everyone settles in.

Yes. A club with up to 20 active members can use the full product without a card or an expiry date. Larger clubs pay by active-member band. Training, booking, portals, coaching tools and administration stay included, so moving into a paid band does not create a menu of add-ons.

Yes. Clubs can use their logo, colours, Row HQ subdomain and club identity across the member experience. Branding is not held back for a separate feature tier. That gives members a familiar home while the underlying product continues to receive the same updates as every other Row HQ club.

Row HQ produces member exports for common British Rowing administration and regatta workflows. The British Rowing member API is not open for a live third-party write, so officers upload the relevant export rather than syncing directly. Payment records can also be exported for reconciliation in tools such as Xero or QuickBooks.

Put your own club through the workflow

A demo uses a real club setup, so you can test the awkward parts of your current week rather than watch a generic slide deck.
