Software for UK Rowing Clubs With British Rowing Records Built In
Give captains one view of outings and ergs, coaches a seat-by-seat crew builder, and members a clear place to respond. Fleet reservations, British Rowing details and regatta work stay with the same record. See what it replaces.
Built for clubs affiliated to British Rowing. Oundle Town Rowing Club operates it beside the Nene.
How does Row HQ manage a UK rowing club?
Row HQ is UK rowing club software for bookings, outings, attendance, crews, regatta entries and committee work. Each member record also holds their British Rowing number, membership type, renewal date, swim test and capsize drill status. There is no charge while 20 members remain active. Since adopting Row HQ in 2025, Oundle Town Rowing Club has cut weekly administration from roughly ten hours to one.
Why UK rowing clubs need more than generic club software
Generic club software was not built with a coxswain on the dock at 6am. Rowing is unusual: an attendance reply is useful only when the coach can connect that person to a seat and hull. One reservation mistake can ground eight athletes. Selection trials need a lineup builder, not a calendar invite. British Rowing numbers, water-safety records, regatta entries and captain's notes have no good fit in software designed for tennis or netball.
Generic boat-booking apps fix only the booking layer. Spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups paper over the rest until they break. Row HQ was designed around how a UK club actually runs: pre-session attendance for the coach, drag-and-drop crews, live boat availability, British Rowing details, member portals, and committee reports. Inspect the UK workflows.
Built for British Rowing affiliated clubs
Affiliation admin is not an afterthought bolted onto a generic system. It sits in the same member record as everything else.
British Rowing membership on the member record
Keep the BR number, membership type and renewal date with each rower. Captains can isolate expired records and send reminders before winter affiliations become an emergency.
Water safety and capsize drill records
Record swim-test and capsize-drill dates against the rower. Expired evidence becomes visible while a coach prepares an open-water lineup.
Head races and regatta entries
Prepare HORR, Fours Head, Schools Head or local regatta crews. The entry check covers live BR status, water-safety evidence and age limits before names are submitted.
Annual return exports
Create a clean report of membership types, age groups and qualifications using the fields British Rowing requests.
The integration limit
ClubHub and BROE2 offer no public interface for independent products. Row HQ therefore stores the relevant British Rowing details but cannot exchange them automatically. The records remain beside each person's bookings and crews, ready to review or export. Federation sync can only follow if British Rowing opens access. Check the integration position.
Used at Oundle Town Rowing Club
After its 2025 rollout, Oundle Town Rowing Club reduced recurring administration from roughly ten hours each week to one. The same team rows on the Nene, maintains the product and supports club users.
Tested on the Nene
Oundle uses the same workflows through a normal club week.

Captains can organise outings, coaches can build seat plans, members can respond and committees can review the season from the same service. UK records add British Rowing details, water-safety checks and local pricing to those everyday boathouse tasks.
No. ClubHub remains the official membership platform. Row HQ records the member number, type and renewal date alongside operational records. There is no automatic ClubHub or BROE2 sync because British Rowing does not publish a third-party API.
A member profile can carry swim-test and capsize-drill dates with expiry flags. Coaches can spot an out-of-date record while preparing an open-water crew.
Oundle began using Row HQ in 2025. We can import a club's member spreadsheet and fleet list, then help the committee check the records before invitations go out.
Club records stay on servers in London. Connections use TLS 1.3, stored information uses AES-256 encryption, and access follows each person's role. Daily backups support recovery. The product is designed around UK GDPR obligations.
Founder-led email help runs during UK business hours. Documentation and video guides cover routine tasks, while product questions reach the team maintaining Row HQ.
