Tasman Coastal Rowing Club rows on Tasman Bay from its base at 164 Barnett Avenue, Best Island, Nelson. Coastal rowing takes crews onto the open sea rather than flat water, and outings range from relaxed rows to regattas.
The club offers recreational and competitive rowing for all ages and abilities, with coastal rowing, club rowing and masters rowing programmes. Masters rowing in the club covers rowers aged 27 and over, with those aged 18 to 26 treated as trainee masters.
In November 2025 the club ran the first Rabbit Island Rampage, a race for coastal quads, doubles and singles around Rabbit Island, with four Top of the South clubs taking part. The course started from the front beach of Moturoa and passed Mapua and Bell Island. The club intends to hold it every year.
