Rowing training session management
Members tap to confirm attendance. Coaches see who's coming. No more WhatsApp polls or messy spreadsheets.
What is rowing training session software?
Rowing training session software lets a club publish its weekly programme in one place, capture one-tap attendance from members on their phones, and feed the resulting numbers into crew selection and admin reports. Instead of WhatsApp polls and a parallel spreadsheet, members see every water, erg, and circuits session in a single feed, confirm if they are in or out, and receive a reminder before the session. Coaches reach the boathouse already knowing the numbers - critical during the intense Maadi Cup build-up when every seat counts. Historical attendance data feeds straight into crew selection so selection decisions are based on facts, not memory.

Training session software FAQs
What New Zealand rowing clubs ask before switching from WhatsApp polls and spreadsheets.
Rowing training session software publishes your weekly water, erg, and circuits sessions to every member at once, captures one-tap attendance, sends reminders, and feeds the resulting numbers into crew selection and admin reports. It replaces the WhatsApp poll plus a parallel spreadsheet that most NZ clubs still rely on. Members see what is happening this week from their phone, confirm if they are coming, and the coach arrives at the boathouse already knowing the numbers and who is rowing in which boat. During the Maadi Cup build-up - when accurate attendance drives seat-racing decisions - that information is invaluable.
One tap. Members open the Row HQ app, see the session card for the next training, and tap "Going" or "Not going". They can add a quick note (arriving 10 minutes late, erg only today, available as a spare) but they do not have to. Coaches see the live count update in real time. Members who do not respond get a polite reminder a few hours before the session. The system records the response history so coaches can see which athletes are consistently showing up and which ones are drifting off.
Yes. Most NZ clubs set up their full weekly programme once - Tuesday evening erg, Saturday morning water, Sunday long row, novice intake on Wednesday - with each session marked by type. Recurring sessions auto-publish week after week so admins are not re-entering them every Sunday night. You can edit a single instance (cancel due to weather, move to Lake Karapiro for a special outing, swap location) without breaking the recurrence. Different sessions can have different visibility - novice-only or seniors-only - so the right members see the right sessions.
Yes. Members get a notification a few hours before each session they have signed up for, plus a separate reminder if they have not yet responded. The reminder timing is configurable per club. Coaches can also send a manual broadcast that goes to everyone in a session within seconds - replacing the 6am WhatsApp scramble when conditions change on the river or harbour.
Yes - this is one of the most valuable features for NZ clubs. The attendance data from training sessions feeds directly into the coach-tools crew builder. When a coach opens crew selection for the NZ Championships or a regional regatta, they can already see who has trained consistently, who has been on the erg, and who is available. The crew assignments then push back as notifications, so members know they are in the first eight for tomorrow without waiting for a WhatsApp announcement.
