Leeds Rowing Club uses Waterloo Lake at Roundhay Park and the Aire and Calder Canal at Stourton. The community club opened at Waterloo Lake in 2006, then expanded to a purpose-built canal boathouse in 2014.

It grew from about six people to more than 150 members. Leeds is affiliated to British Rowing and is registered with the Charity Commission as charity number 1142301.

Waterloo Lake remains the base for learn-to-row, novice, adaptive and recreational rowing. The site has five Concept2 rowing machines and boats from singles to quads, while the Stourton boathouse is the hub for senior, under-23, junior and high-performance rowing.

The club runs separate adult beginner routes for racing and recreational rowing. Its Junior Rowing Academy starts with Year 8 indoor assessment before selected children move onto the water, while experienced rowers can join men's, women's or masters training.

Adult beginners learn technique on an ergometer before four sessions in stable boats at Waterloo Lake, followed by novice sessions. Rowers can remain recreational, join the development squad or progress towards the canal racing squad.

Leeds records athletes competing at Henley Royal Regatta, Henley Women's Regatta and the Paralympic Games. At Henley Women's it lists a Senior Single Sculls win, an Elite Single Sculls final, a Club Fours semi-final and qualifiers in three other events.

Its masters squad competes in Britain and abroad, including the World Rowing Masters Regatta. The club reports British Rowing Masters Championship wins in women's quads, doubles and eights.
