Stirling Rowing Club is based on the River Forth at Dean Crescent in Riverside, Stirling. An original club formed in 1853 and closed in 1860; the present organisation dates its current continuous existence from Stirling Amateur Rowing Club in 1891.

The club's archive records an early boathouse beside the Forth and says the present headquarters and boathouse was built in 1906. The building is also used by Stirling University rowers and armed-forces personnel for practice.

New rowers begin with an invited come-and-try day followed by a five-session learn-to-row course. Competent rowers may join directly, and the club welcomes all ages and abilities for recreational or competitive rowing.

Summer sessions separate junior and senior Sunday rowing and include open midweek training, while winter replaces most evening water work with circuits, strength and conditioning and ergometer sessions. Sunday water sessions continue through the year when the coaching team considers the river safe.

The club has produced British champions and races across junior, senior and masters categories. At the 2018 Scottish Championships it entered 35 athletes in 29 events, including a gold medal in the women's lightweight double sculls.
