Annapolis Rowing Club is a non-profit, community-based membership organisation on Gingerville Creek and the South River in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
Its stated aim is to promote and advance rowing through the widest possible range of opportunities for training and participation, and its membership reflects that: members range in age from 18 to over 70.
Beginners come in through Learn to Row and Learn to Scull classes, with a Foundations programme after that. Experienced rowers join the crew teams directly.
Two programmes sit alongside the main club. Adaptive Rowing is for adults with physical impairments. Strokes 4 Survivors is a group for cancer survivors, set up to share rowing with people coming through treatment and recovery.
The club rows from the Gingerville Yachting Center in Edgewater, and is supported by local sponsorship.
