What does Row HQ do for a rowing program?
Row HQ is the club management app that replaces the Google Sheets and GroupMe setup most US programs run on. It handles practices, boat reservations, V8+ and 2V8+ lineups, athlete and parent portals, regatta entries, and AD reporting from one web app that works on phones, tablets, and desktops. Athletes confirm practice in one tap and coaches see the whole program at a glance. The same platform also runs high school crew programs and collegiate boat clubs with vertical-specific features for each.
Works on your phone
Row HQ works on your phone first, but also works well on tablets and desktops. Check practices, reserve shells, or build lineups from wherever you are.

Common questions about Row HQ
Quick answers to the questions programs ask before booking a demo.
Every paid plan includes direct email support from the founder team during UK business hours (which typically means overnight responses to US clubs - the time difference works in your favour). There is no offshore call center - you are emailing the people who built the product. We answer setup questions, walk new coaches through the dashboard on a video call, and help with athlete-roster import. Most programs only need us during the first two weeks; after that, the system runs itself. We typically respond same-day.
Yes. Send us your existing roster spreadsheet (CSV, Excel, or Google Sheets) and we will import names, contact details, emergency contacts, class year, varsity/JV/novice level, and dues status for free during onboarding. Most programs migrate from a Google Sheet, a USRowing roster export, or an old athletic-department database. We sense-check the import with you before the data goes live so nothing gets duplicated or lost. If you want to keep running parallel for a few weeks while athletes get used to the app, that is fine too.
Yes. Programs of up to 20 active athletes use the full product free, for good: practices, boat reservations, athlete portal, coach tools, and the admin dashboard, with no card and no time limit. Invite your real athletes and run actual practices from day one. Above 20 active athletes you move onto a flat monthly band based on active athlete count, and every feature stays included. Your setup carries over automatically as your program grows.
Yes. Your program logo, colors, custom subdomain, and emails sent from your address are included for every program on every band - there are no feature tiers or paywalled modules. Every program also gets its own subdomain like yourcrew.rowhq.app. Athletes and parents get a branded program app they trust rather than a third-party one. See the white-label feature page for the full breakdown.
Row HQ exports athlete data in formats accepted by USRowing for membership registration, regatta entries (HOCR, IRA, EARC), and waiver tracking. We do not currently push live to USRowing because their member API is not open to third parties; instead we generate the CSV exports coaches drop into the USRowing portal. We also export to common accounting tools (QuickBooks, Xero) for dues reconciliation, and Title IX participation reports for the athletic department. If you have a specific integration need, ask during the demo - we have built custom exports for several programs already.
