About this club

Atlanta Junior Rowing Association was founded in 1988 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit club sport dedicated to providing rowing opportunities for high school students throughout Metro Atlanta. The program started as a small club rowing out of Atlanta Rowing Club’s boathouse. Growth over the next ten years required the club to build and move into their boathouse on Azalea Drive. Today AJRA has more than 200 rowers from over 75 middle and high schools throughout Atlanta and is the largest, most successful high school rowing program in Georgia. The AJRA boathouse is located at 245 Azalea Drive on the Chattahoochee River in Roswell. The boathouse holds more than 25 racing shells, coaching launches, erg and weight training equipment, and space for indoor exercise when necessary. A new dock was installed in August of 2018, allowing multiple boats to launch safely and efficiently, giving athletes more time on the water.
