The South County Crew Club began in 2005 when South County High School opened its doors. In our first season one of our boats won a BRONZE medal at the Virginia State Rowing Championship. The tradition of winning has been going strong ever since. Over the years South County Crew boats have regularly brought home GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE medals from the Virginia State Rowing Championship and have routinely placed in the top ten at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta (the world's largest and oldest high school rowing competition) and at the Scholastic Rowing National Championship. In our most recent season, the team achieved impressive results! Our team had a remarkably successful year: 142 first, second, and third place ribbons during the regular season, TEN GOLD and TEN BRONZE medals at the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association Championship (States), two top ten boats in the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, and two top fifteen boats in the Scholastic Rowing Association National Championship (Nationals). Our women’s varsity boat even received an invitation to compete against top high school, club, and college teams at the prestigious United States Rowing Championship in Florida. South County Crew success continues beyond high school. Many of our athletes go on to compete at the collegiate level and earn scholarships. You can find South County Crew Alum at University of Wisconsin, Central Florida University, Embry Riddle, Oregon State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Delaware, Michigan State and more! Join us as we begin our next season and help make it the best one yet!
