Three Castles Rowing Club
Blessington, County Wicklow
About this club
Three Castles Rowing Club is based in Blessington, County Wicklow. Rowing Ireland announced the club's return to the national governing body in May 2026 and described it as open to newcomers and experienced rowers.
The club was founded in 2011. Sligo Rowing Club's history identifies John O'Keefe, previously associated with Old Collegians, as a later founder of Three Castles.
Its current programme is being rebuilt around recreational rowing, fitness and competition. Rowing Ireland's return announcement says the club is recruiting people who want to row socially, train for fitness or race.
Three Castles achieved national junior success in 2017. A crew including students from Naas won at the National Rowing Championships, an achievement reported as the club's first junior national success.
The club also recorded two wins at the 2013 national championships, according to contemporary Wicklow coverage. At the 2014 Euro Masters Regatta, Three Castles rowers Siobhan Forman and Becky Quinn recorded wins in their respective finals.
The current Rowing Ireland notice names James Somerville as club captain and invites prospective members to contact the club directly. It places the active club in Blessington rather than the input record's Crosscoolharbour label.
