Bridgnorth Rowing Club rows on the River Severn from The Maltings on Bandon Lane beside Severn Park. It reports more than 60 members and sends crews to local and national regattas and head races.

Records place the club's foundation on 17 June 1868. It hosted the Shrewsbury School and Cheltenham College match that year, but declined after the First World War and disbanded in 1924. Constable Bill Williams reformed it in 1953 with Dr E. L. Rhodes and John Wallis.

Members bought The Maltings in 1983 and began its development ten years later. The building now provides racks for singles, doubles, pairs, fours and eights, a mezzanine with rowing machines and weights, changing rooms, showers, a club room and bar.

Adult Learn to Row covers rowing machines, boat handling and rowing on the river through four coached sessions. Club members also race over longer distances, including regular entries in the Head of the River Race.

A Bridgnorth four recorded a series of novice wins during the 1960s, and member Mike Dunn later won two world veterans championship gold medals. In 1991 Paul Wallis represented the club in a West Midlands composite quadruple scull that qualified for the Queen Mother Challenge Cup at Henley.

The club holds Bridgnorth Regatta each June and uses its proceeds, sponsorship and fundraising to renew boats and equipment. The current regatta programme spans junior, open, women's and masters events and is run under British Rowing affiliation.
