City of Sheffield Rowing Club rows at Damflask Reservoir beside Low Bradfield. The club describes the reservoir as about 2,000 metres long and 47 hectares in area, and says it shares this water-sports venue with Viking Sailing Club and the Sea Cadets.

Experienced rowers founded the club in 1968. Its first boat was launched on Sheffield's canals, where only about 250 yards were available, before the club moved to Damflask alongside the University of Sheffield; Sheffield Hallam Boat Club joined it there in 1984.

The club accepts junior applications throughout the year and normally runs an adult Learn to Row intake once a year after spring taster sessions. Its published pathways include novice and transitional rowing, senior and masters men's and women's squads, recreational rowing, indoor associate membership and categories for students, coaches and guests.

Membership includes use of club boats, oars and facilities. The club's own history says crews and athletes have achieved success at regional, national and world level, while its charity exists to advance community participation in rowing and sculling in Sheffield.

National championship records identify two notable club titles: the men's veteran coxed four in 1977 and the women's single scull in 1997. City of Sheffield also appeared on the 2026 Henley Royal Regatta entry list and entered a coxed four at Marlow Regatta that year.

The current organisation became a registered charity in March 2019. Its public address remains the Damflask Rowing Centre rather than the central-Sheffield postcode carried in the source record.
