Erith Rowing Club is based on the Thames waterfront at Erith and was founded in 1943. The club describes itself as the only rowing club on the Thames between Greenwich and Gravesend.

Its history places organised rowing and town regattas in Erith from the 1890s through the 1950s. The present club has developed a fleet for sweep rowing and sculling and says its members race locally and at national events.

Membership is open to adults and juniors. New adult rowers can take a six-session introduction course, with the club requiring participants to be at least 15 for that programme.

Experienced members train and compete in club crews, including entries at Henley. The official history also records that a former Erith member went on to represent Australia at the Olympic Games, although it does not name the athlete on the page reviewed.
