Globe Rowing Club rows from two London locations: its Greenwich home on the tidal Thames and Royal Albert Dock facilities operated with London Youth Rowing. Its Greenwich base is the Trafalgar Rowing Centre on Crane Street, shared with Curlew Rowing Club.

Globe began in 1923 as a works rowing team in Deptford. It used the Mitre public house in Greenwich as a headquarters in 1947 and later operated from a former landing craft at Ballast Quay before the Trafalgar Rowing Centre was developed in 2006.

The club accepts all genders and organises senior members into development, recreational, competition and performance squads. It also runs junior rowing, Learn to Row courses and community tasters, with routes for experienced rowers, coxes and coaches.

Members can row on the tidal Thames or the sheltered dock. Globe lists a gym with free weights and rowing machines, while the Trafalgar centre provides a boathouse, changing facilities, clubhouse, kitchen, bar and function room.

The club's junior women won the Nina Padwick Trophy at Henley Women's Regatta in 2022, the first Henley Women's victory in Globe's history. In 2025 its senior crews added a British Rowing Club Championships title in the club coxless four, and both senior and junior crews have qualified for Henley Royal and Henley Women's regattas.

Globe was the second East London club to stage club regattas, beginning soon after the Second World War, and was the first club in the area to use an eight. Its current calendar combines racing with club social events and celebrations.
