Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club is based at The Boathouse on Lake Bank in Littleborough. The club rows on Hollingworth Lake and caters for complete beginners, recreational members and athletes seeking high-level competition.

The club traces its origin to a meeting at Mr Yarwood's Lake Hotel in 1872. Its current clubhouse was built in the early 1970s; the club's own current account gives 1973, while a secondary history gives 1972.

The boathouse stores club and privately owned boats, with the club fleet spanning eights, fours, doubles and singles in sizes for different ages and weights. A lounge and function room hosts social events and is also offered for hire.

Water sessions run on Saturday and Sunday mornings throughout the year, with Tuesday and Thursday evening water training in spring and summer and weekday land training in winter. Learn to Row includes adult and junior courses, Sunday tasters and a route into full membership; junior categories begin at 12, seniors at 18 and masters at 27.

The junior section has produced national champions, a world champion, a world silver medallist and two Olympians. Jessica Leyden represented Hollingworth Lake when she became world junior single-scull champion and later won the championship single at Henley Women's Regatta in 2014.

The club stages the North of England Sprint Rowing Championships and won the junior Victor Ludorum at its 2024 edition. It also organises the English Indoor Rowing Championships, which returned in 2025 with British Rowing support and is listed again for September 2026.
