Trafford Rowing Club is a British Rowing-affiliated community club based at Walton Park Sports Centre in Sale. Its home water is the Bridgewater Canal in South Manchester, where members can row recreationally or prepare for competition.

The club was founded in 1957. Its history says it developed from Metrovic Rowing Club after a fire destroyed that club's Dane Road clubhouse, and Trafford Council offered a new home at Walton Road Sports Centre. The early club had four boats and had stopped racing competitively.

Trafford's published club profile records about 180 members, roughly half of them juniors aged 12 to 18. Its senior provision spans recreational, intermediate and senior squads, with members ranging from 19 to over 70.

Separate learn-to-row programmes serve adults and juniors. Adult beginners complete six weekly sessions before entering the adult development squad, while junior beginners take four sessions in one week and can progress into junior development. Both pathways lead towards either racing or recreational rowing.

The club reported a junior bronze at the 2018/19 British Rowing Junior Championships and silver at the British Rowing Indoor Championships. Its junior squad also won the Victor Ludorum at Northwich and Trentham that season, while the men's and women's squads recorded wins across northern England.

Trafford runs the annual Head of the Bridgewater on its home canal. The 2026 edition attracted 206 crews; Trafford entered 47 crews plus two composites and recorded wins across its junior, senior and masters squads.
