About this club

Latymer Upper School Boat Club is the school rowing club on the River Thames at Upper Mall, Hammersmith. British Rowing identifies it as an affiliated club, while Historic England records the boathouse at 40 Upper Mall.

The programme is co-educational, with participation reported as evenly divided between girls and boys. British Rowing describes established sculling and sweep-rowing programmes, with year-group squads and coaching for both sides of the club.

Historic England dates the present boathouse to 1963 and attributes it to Richard Seifert & Partners. Its directory records boat storage on the ground floor, with a gymnasium, meeting rooms and accommodation on the upper floors.

The club won the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 2013 and again in 2019. Its recorded national titles include the 2010 women's quadruple sculls, alongside earlier boys' titles in 1976, 1985, 1986 and 1988.

Former Latymer rower Andy Holmes won Olympic gold in 1984 and 1988, and former pupil Henry Fieldman won an Olympic bronze as a cox at the Tokyo Games. British Rowing's 2025 junior selection also included Latymer rower Raphael Corbett for the Munich International Junior Regatta.
