Shoreham Rowing Club is based at Kingston Beach on Brighton Road in Shoreham-by-Sea. From that site it trains and races on both the River Adur and the sea, supporting coastal and river rowing.

The club traces its tradition to the mid-1800s, when individuals raced rowing boats along the Sussex coast. Its own history does not give an exact formation year, but describes generations of Shoreham crews competing at regattas across the south coast and beyond.

Learn to Row introduces technique, terminology, safety and teamwork on land and water. The adult squad combines social rowing with preparation for regattas and coastal championships, while the junior squad serves ages 12 to 16 with local and regional competition available.

Shoreham topped the Coast Amateur Rowing Association League in 2024. At the opening of its 2026 season, the club reported a junior boys' win, a junior girls' second place and a mixed J14 third place, including five juniors racing at their first coastal regatta.

The club hosts Shoreham Regatta on Shoreham Beach and Adur Head from its Brighton Road base. Its wider calendar follows the CARA circuit, including racing at Bexhill, Hastings, Eastbourne, Folkestone, Dover, Deal, Worthing and Herne Bay, followed by the South Coast Championships.

A volunteer committee covers club captains, men's, women's, junior and Learn to Row coordination, safety, welfare, boats and regatta organisation. Newcomers can request a taster session before moving into active membership when space is available.
