Trentham Boat Club rows on Trentham Lake at the Trentham Estate, with access from Stone Road near the estate's southern entrance. The current club was founded in the summer of 2004 after several years without rowing on the lake.

A new boathouse was completed in 2009 at the southern end of the lake, close to the Monkey Forest entrance. That year also brought the club's first regatta. The club subsequently reported more than 100 members, with near-equal representation across boys, girls, women and men.

Adult Learn to Row courses move from basic technique and confidence-building into standard crew boats, supported by coaches and experienced members. The club also runs junior tasters, and its adult squads include recreational and competitive rowers as well as beginners.

Trentham's junior programme has produced a sustained national record. Published honours list ten national championship crews between 2009 and 2019, across junior eights, coxed quads and single sculls. A Trentham sculler also took bronze in the open J16 single at the 2025 British Rowing Club Championships.

The club is a not-for-profit organisation and founder member of the Trentham Watersports Association. Its operation relies on membership fees, sponsorship and fundraising, with a facilities officer responsible for the boathouse and member facilities.

Trentham Regatta has grown from the first edition in 2009 and attracts junior crews from around the country. The club published a full race tree for the 2025 regatta and maintains a dedicated regatta secretary alongside its squad and membership contacts.
