D.C. Strokes Rowing Club has been rowing on the Anacostia River since 1991 and describes itself as the nation's oldest LGBTQ+ rowing club.
The club offers access to competitive rowing to people of all backgrounds and athletic abilities across the greater Washington, DC area, from its home on the Anacostia.
Programmes cover sculling, sweep and a Learn to Row course for beginners, with guest rowing available for visitors.
It hosts the Stonewall Regatta, and is a member of the Anacostia Community Boathouse Association, sharing the boathouse with the other clubs on that stretch of river.
