About this club
Port Adelaide Rowing Club was established in 1877 and rows on the Port River estuary from Snowdens Beach South at Largs North. Rowing SA lists it among the state's current metropolitan clubs.
The club says its membership spans all age groups and supports recreational and competitive crews. New rowers can use its Learn to Row programme, while membership options also include gym and social categories.
Port Adelaide makes clubrooms available for hire. Its own site also says visiting rowing clubs can hire racks, motor dinghies and boats when available, and guest members from other clubs are welcome to arrange a row.
The club organises long rows around Torrens Island on the Port River. Its 2026 programme schedules sessions as preparation for Wharf to Woolshed, Head of the Port and Head of the Yarra.
The Port River has a much longer regatta history around the club. A South Australian Maritime Museum account records Port Adelaide crews competing there in the South Australian Rowing Association's 1925 regatta alongside Adelaide, Torrens, Mannum, Renmark and Murray Bridge.
