What is a rowing club management app?

A rowing club management app is a mobile and web platform that handles the day-to-day operations of a rowing club - boat booking, training sessions, crew selection, membership records, regatta entries, and club finance - from a single login on any device. Row HQ is built specifically for that job at Australian clubs, replacing the WhatsApp groups, spreadsheets, and email chains most committees still use.

How is this different from a Concept2 or Hydrow app?

Concept2 ErgData, Hydrow, Ergatta, and Kinomap are fitness apps - workouts and indoor machines. Row HQ is a club operations app - membership, fleet, scheduling, crew selection, finance. Different problems, different software. Most rowers have one of each on their phone.

Do members need to install anything?

No. Row HQ is a progressive web app. Members open the club URL in their phone browser (iOS Safari or Android Chrome) and add it to their home screen. From then on it opens full-screen like any app, with no app store in the way and no download to manage.

Will it work for our small club?

Yes. The same architecture serves a 30-member regional club and a 400-member university squad. Clubs of up to 20 active members are free; above that you pay a flat monthly AUD band by member count, so small clubs pay a small fee.

Does it handle GPS school rowing programmes?

Yes. School programmes get parent accounts for under-18 rowers, year-group filtering, school billing flow, and the welfare audit trail expected of GPS, AAGPS and APS schools. Coaches see only the squads they coach; the director of rowing sees the whole programme.

How long does rollout take?

Setup is roughly four hours. Member import from your existing list is automatic. Full rollout to membership is typically a week, staged: committee first, coaches second, full club in week two. Most clubs run a parallel announcement on their existing WhatsApp during the first fortnight, then archive it.

Is Row HQ really free?

Yes - free for good for clubs of up to 20 active members. No card, no feature limit. Above 20 members you pay a flat monthly AUD band based on active member count, with every feature included on every band.
