Marlborough Boys' College Rowing operates out of the Wairau Rowing Club on the Wairau River at Grovetown, 5 km north-east of Blenheim.
The squad usually numbers 25 to 40 boys aged 13 to 18. Training begins in September, and many rowers also follow a winter programme focused on core strength. Crews race in Wairau Rowing Club colours in the first half of the season and in school colours during the college regatta season.
The first regatta is usually the Marlborough Championships in early December, followed by training camps at Lake Rotoiti in December and January. Regattas then run through January, February and March, with the Maadi Cup as the pinnacle of the season. A Learn to Row course is open to beginners in Years 8 to 12 who attend or plan to attend the college.
