Rangiora High School rowing is run with the Cure Boating Club, whose clubrooms and boatshed are on Raven Quay in Kaiapoi. Crews row on the Kaiapoi River and the Waimakariri Estuary.
Rowing is a summer sport at the school, with the season running from September to March and regattas at weekends. Beginners can start with six or twelve week sessions. Novice training begins on Sunday mornings and builds to three or four sessions a week before regattas, with extra sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Training continues over the school and Christmas holidays.
Depending on numbers, school rowers can go on to represent Rangiora High School at the South Island Secondary Schools Championships and the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships, known as the Maadi Cup regatta. The club owns the skiffs and oars and allocates them by crew ability.
