Herne Bay Amateur Rowing Club is a coastal club on the seafront at Hampton in Herne Bay, Kent. It was founded in 1887 and has a long-running competitive association with the Coastal Amateur Rowing Association.

The club welcomes new members from age 13. It trains throughout the year, using the water and land training according to season, and its main coastal racing period runs from May to September.

Club information describes sea rowing from spring to autumn, supported by rowing machines, weights and circuit work on land. Membership provides routes into training, racing and the club's social activity.

Herne Bay crews race against other CARA clubs around Kent and Sussex and can progress to the South Coast Rowing Championships. The club publishes regular race reports and results from junior, senior, masters, pair, sculling and quad events.

One recurring event is the Viking Shield regatta. The club records that the shield was presented by two Danish oarsmen who rowed across the North Sea and were guests of Kent rowing clubs in 1925.
