Newport Rowing Club is a river-based coastal rowing club at Hurstake, Riverway, Newport, on the River Medina. It was established in 1863 and describes itself as the oldest rowing club on the Isle of Wight.

The club's original boathouse still stands and is identified by the club as a local landmark. Current membership spans ages 12 to 82, and the published membership form includes both adult and junior membership arrangements.

Newport is part of the Hants and Dorset coastal racing circuit. The association handbook lists the club's 1863 foundation, Hurstake address and coastal racing entry, while the club's own news covers local regattas, mainland racing and head events.

The club reports that its junior crew won the 2025 South Coast Championships in Plymouth. It began the 2026 Hants and Dorset season by hosting a Coastal Fours Regatta and winning the two senior open events, having entered eight crews at one regatta for the first time.

Other recorded results include a men's coxless four producing the fastest time at a 2025 head event, a men's novice four winning at Poole in 2023 and a ladies' masters four winning at Newport Regatta in its first race.

A grant reported by British Rowing funded weatherproof defibrillation equipment outside the clubhouse in 2024. The project involved junior, masters and club officers and was supported through the national RALPHH charity programme.
