City of Oxford Rowing Club is based on Meadow Lane by Donnington Bridge in Oxford, on the stretch of the River Thames known as the Isis. The club says it has more than 300 members and membership is open to all.

The present club was formed in 1968 through the amalgamation of Neptune Rowing Club, founded in 1863, and Hannington Rowing Club, founded in 1904. Its historical club page also records its former affiliation to the Amateur Rowing Association and its base on the Isis.

Current activity includes men's and women's senior squads, Masters Explorers, development, junior and adaptive rowing. Adult beginners who complete the six-week course can progress to the development squad, while the adaptive section runs a weekly Sunday session for people with physical, sensory or learning impairments.

Members have access to a gym and rowing equipment seven days a week, alongside coaching from the club's coaches and coxes. The club's membership page also lists bar and catering facilities, and says its boats serve junior, adaptive, recreational, competitive and senior rowers.

The senior squads compete at major national and international events, with goals that include the Head of the River and Henley regattas. Published honours list national championship crews in 1988, 1993, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2025.

The club hosts Oxford City Royal Regatta, Oxford City Bumping Races and Isis Sculls. Its older official history describes the Bumping Races as open to crews from all clubs and records adaptive sculls and a corporate eights challenge within the Royal Regatta programme.
