University of Warwick Boat Club was founded in 1967 and rows on the River Avon near Barford, Warwickshire. The club describes a 2.2-kilometre home stretch and a student-run organisation with a 16-person executive committee and two external coaches.

UWBC has around 120 to 125 athletes across senior and novice rowing. About three quarters of members arrive as novices, and the club says it normally accepts roughly 40 beginners into a programme designed to have them racing within two months. The novice course is open to all Warwick students and is intended to lead into senior squads or local clubs.

Senior athletes complete three water sessions and three ergometer sessions each week. The wider programme also includes weights, running, core work, technical advice and video feedback.

The racing calendar includes the men's and women's Head of the River races, BUCS events, Henley Women's Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta. The club's coxing programme trains members to steer and motivate crews as part of those campaigns.

Notable alumni listed in the club's record include Olympic rower Tom Solesbury, British champion Ben Ellison and Paralympic gold medallist Oliver James MBE. The club also runs social events, including an annual ball.
