About this club

Dublin City Coastal Rowing Club is based at the public slipway in Poolbeg, Ringsend. It launches on the River Liffey, trains in Dublin Bay and is affiliated to Rowing Ireland for coastal sculling and sweep rowing.

The club was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee on 5 January 2023. Its founders describe themselves as experienced river and sea rowers who created the club around community development, with enjoyment, respect, integrity, ambition and commitment as its stated values.

DCCRC is a competitive club that races in Ireland and abroad. Members receive coastal coaching and development, and the club publishes separate winter and spring-summer training schedules from its Poolbeg base.

Its membership programme includes adults and juniors aged 15 to 18. For the 2025 team, endurance openings covered masters and senior quads, doubles, mixed crews and women's solo, while beach-sprint places covered junior and senior solos and doubles for men, women and mixed crews.

The club partners with Beach Sprint Academy in Torrevieja, Spain, where members travel for training during the season. Six-time coastal rowing champion Ander Martín serves as coaching adviser, is a club member and competes at regattas.

Dublin City entered national competition soon after establishment. Michael Domingo placed third in the men's single at the 2023 Swift Irish Coastal Championships, and club athletes also appeared at the 2025 Irish Indoor Rowing Championships.
