Stella Maris Rowing Club was founded in 1937 in Ringsend, Dublin. The club's own history consistently identifies Ringsend as its home, correcting the input record's Howth location.

Its main racing season runs from April to September. Stella Maris competes at East Coast regattas from Skerries south to Arklow, at the All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships and in challenge rows organised by other East Coast clubs.

The club includes junior rowers aged 10 to 18 and adult novice, intermediate, junior and senior participants, as well as veteran rowers. Its membership page describes an extensive training programme.

Members have access to the clubhouse gym. The club specifically lists Concept2 rowing machines, exercise bikes, a treadmill, weight-lifting equipment and a prowler among the training equipment.

Stella Maris established the Hope Row in 2013 after member David Doyle proposed a fundraising event. The first edition supported a member's family and the cystic fibrosis unit at St Michael's Hospital, and crews from across East Coast rowing took part.

The Hope Row continued annually with changing beneficiary charities. The club's published account records EUR55,249 raised between 2013 and 2019, including support for Aware, Pieta House, Irish Cancer Society and local causes.

Rowing Ireland currently lists Stella Maris as a Dublin coastal club. The club describes its regular programme as combining East Coast racing, national coastal competition, challenge rows, training and its annual charity event.
