Rows with Nelson Rowing Club on the Haven at Port Nelson, with Nelson College boys racing for club and school.
About this club
Nelson College rowers train with Nelson Rowing Club at the Port Nelson marina, on Cross Quay off Akersten Street, and row on the Haven inside the Boulder Bank.
The boys row for both the club and the school. Club crews travel to regattas in Blenheim, Twizel and Cambridge, and the college season builds to the South Island Secondary Schools Championships at Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel, and the Maadi Cup. In 2025 the school's rowers travelled to Twizel for the South Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships and also raced during summer tournament week.
At the 2023 Maadi Cup a boys' under 15 double sculls finished fourth in its A final. The school's other 2023 Maadi crews included an under 18 coxed quad and an under 15 coxed quad.
