Sacred Heart Girls' College rowing trains on the water at Hamilton Rowing Club, a short distance from the school in Hamilton, and its rowers are club members who row under both club and school colours. Land training takes place in the school gym.
The programme began in 2001. A six-week Learn to Row course runs every year in Term 3 and is open to all students new to rowing, and students can also join after Term 3. The rowing season runs from September to April, including school holidays, with sessions before or after school and at weekends.
The squad races at club and school regattas, often held at Lake Karapiro, and goes to camps at Mangakino, Epworth or Ngaruawahia during the season. Selected rowers attend the Maadi Cup.
