Rows on the Waikato River in Hamilton with Waikato Rowing Club, for girls at Waikato Diocesan School.
About this club
Waikato Diocesan School's rowing programme trains on the Waikato River in Hamilton, where Waikato Rowing Club hosts the school's crews alongside other secondary schools. The Waikato Diocesan School for Girls Rowing Club was set up in 1994 as an incorporated society, separate from the school but closely linked to it, and gives girls at the school the chance to row.
The squad is organised into novice, under 16 and senior groups. The school's sports awards have named rowing crews as team of the year in several seasons, including an under 18 coxed eight in 2009, 2011 and 2014.
At the 2025 Maadi Regatta the school won three gold and two silver medals. In 2026 a squad of about 60 won six gold, four silver and one bronze at the Maadi Regatta on Lake Ruataniwha, including the Levin Jubilee Cup, and its 43 points in the Star Trophy made it the leading secondary school at the regatta.
