About this club

Bewdley Rowing Club is based at Riverside North in Wribbenhall, Bewdley, and rows on the River Severn. Published club records date its foundation to 1877.

The club supports junior, senior men's, senior women's, masters and recreational rowing. Its rowing pages describe competitive pathways from novice racing through national events and Henley regattas, alongside coached recreational sessions for members who do not want a full racing programme.

Beginners can enter through learn-to-row courses held between April and September. The club also provides a gym and land-training facilities, and its fleet supports both sweep rowing and sculling across the different squads.

Bewdley's recorded honours include a composite win in the Double Sculls Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 1983. Further composite Henley wins followed in the Queen Mother Challenge Cup in 1984 and the Thames Challenge Cup in 1985.

Published championship records also list British titles for Bewdley crews in 1979, 1980, 1991 and 1995. The club says members race locally and at major national events, with juniors, seniors and masters all represented.

The club stages an annual Bewdley Regatta on the Severn and also runs a Beginners Fun Regatta. These events sit alongside its learn-to-row programme and regular squad training.
