Isle of Ely Rowing Club is based at Kiln Lane, off Prickwillow Road in Ely, and rows on the River Great Ouse. The club was established in 2004 and describes the Queen Adelaide Straight as non-tidal water with about five kilometres available for rowing.

Its origin is linked to the Diamond 44 project, a 2004 re-enactment of the unofficial 1944 Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race. The new club initially used boats supplied by King's School Ely before building its own fleet.

The current programme covers competitive and recreational adults, juniors, learn-to-row courses and community outreach. New rowers can take coached courses before moving into regular sessions and membership.

The club became a registered charity in 2017. The Charity Commission record describes its purpose as promoting community participation in rowing and identifies its two open races as the Great Ouse Marathon and Ely Head Race.

Isle of Ely has hosted the Great Ouse Marathon since 2009. It began as an invitational event and became an open British Rowing race in 2012; the current event page says it is held on the first Sunday in September over 22 kilometres from Denver to Ely.
