Cambridge University Boat Club is the university's performance rowing club for openweight and lightweight men and women. Its land-training base is Goldie Boathouse in Cambridge, while on-water training takes place from the club's Ely boathouse on the River Great Ouse.

CUBC held its inaugural meeting at Gonville and Caius College on 9 December 1828. Cambridge then challenged Oxford, and the first inter-university race was rowed at Henley on 10 June 1829.

Goldie Boathouse was built on the River Cam in 1873. The women's Boat Race began in 1927, the men's lightweight club was founded in 1974 for the first Lightweight Boat Race in 1975, and the first lightweight women's race followed in 1984.

The openweight women's Boat Race moved to the Tideway in 2015. Cambridge's openweight men, lightweight men and women's clubs voted to unite in April 2020, and the present club was incorporated on 1 August that year.

Goldie provides ergometer and weights training, tank work, physiotherapy, coaching offices and administration. The Ely boathouse brings all CUBC men and women together at one boating base.

Students who learn through college rowing can join CUBC's development programme. The club enters development crews at BUCS Regatta and often at Henley Women's Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta before athletes trial for its Boat Race squads.

In 2026 Cambridge won the Men's Boat Race, the men's and women's reserve races, and both lightweight races. The club also won five medals at the 2026 Metropolitan Regatta, including a third consecutive men's Championship Eight title.
