Newark Rowing Club is based on Farndon Road in Newark, on the bank of the River Devon opposite Newark Marina. Boats launch into the Devon before reaching the River Trent, where the club says members have access to 12 kilometres of rowing water.

The club was founded in 1873 to further rowing on the River Trent and has used the same site ever since. It bought the freehold after the Second World War, added changing facilities in the late 1960s so women could become full members, installed another landing stage in 2003 and opened a replacement clubhouse in 2013.

Membership spans recreational and competitive rowing, with junior, women's, men's and masters squads supported by coaches. Adult beginners can attend taster sessions and a six-week Learn to Row course; the junior section works with boys and girls under 18 and has links with schools in Newark and Grantham.

Facilities include two boathouses, a gym, changing rooms with showers and a clubhouse. The fleet includes training boats for beginners as well as boats for competitive crews.

Newark crews have qualified for Henley Royal Regatta and competed at the National Championships. The club says recent senior members have raced at the National Championships, Henley Royal Regatta, Henley Women's Regatta and the two Tideway eights heads; former members have also represented Great Britain and England.

The club organises the Newark Head Race, with published results for 2022 and 2023. Its 150th anniversary programme in 2023 included a whole-club photograph and boat naming, a Henley Royal row-past and a summer ball.
