About this club
Nottingham & Union Rowing Club rows on the River Trent from Trentside in West Bridgford. The club takes both juniors and adults, trains throughout the year, and can accommodate racing groups as well as some recreational rowing. New members begin with a club visit before progressing from indoor machines to boats on the river.
The present club was formed in 1946 by the amalgamation of Nottingham Rowing Club and Nottingham Union Rowing Club. The Union's Meadow Lane boathouse had been destroyed in a 1941 air raid, leaving its returning members without boats or training equipment, so they joined the club on the West Bridgford bank.
The club offers access to boats, facilities and coaching for experienced and novice rowers. Its competitive history includes victories in the Wyfold Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 1963 and 2010.
