About this club
Northwich Rowing Club rows on the River Weaver in Cheshire and is affiliated to British Rowing. Its members range from 13 to over 70, with squads across the participant pathway for people who want to learn, race or enjoy the river. Crews compete regionally and, where they reach the required standard, at national events.
The club was founded in 1875 at the Crown and Anchor Hotel in Northwich. Its first boathouse stood on Lock Street, and the club moved to the Riversdale Estate in 1907. Women were admitted as full rowing members in 1975, and an adult Learn to Row programme followed in 2006.
Northwich has a long junior tradition and maintains links with local schools and colleges. Training takes place from the club's boathouse at The Crescent, while separate parking arrangements are used for its rowing events.
