Stourport Boat Club is based on the River Severn at Dunley Road in Stourport-on-Severn. It was founded in 1876, when boating was a leading local pastime, which the club gives as the reason it retains Boat Club rather than Rowing Club in its name.

The first Stourport Town Regatta was held in 1876. Its committee raised £80, offered prizes open to crews across England and invited established rowing clubs; West London Rowing Club won both races in the inaugural programme.

The club now has about six kilometres of rowing water on the upper Severn. Its fleet supports rowing and sculling, and the boathouse contains a function room, meeting room, kitchen and gym.

Junior, senior, masters and beginner squads are offered. Regular learn-to-row courses use stable boats before participants progress into club membership, and experienced rowers, coxes and launch drivers are also welcomed.

Stourport records a world masters champion sculler, two Commonwealth Games medallists, junior and senior national champions and Henley Royal Regatta crews among its competitive achievements.

The annual two-day August regatta now attracts more than 600 crews and the club says it caters for about 3,000 visitors. It also runs a regatta sprint, Small Boats Head, Winter Head and Severn Eights Head; the full address is The Boathouse, Riverside, Dunley Road, Stourport-on-Severn, DY13 0AA.
