The rowing scene in Worcester

Worcester is the centre of rowing on the River Severn. The wide, weir-controlled reach between Diglis Lock and Bevere Lock runs straight through the city past Pitchcroft and the Cathedral, hosting one of the oldest provincial regattas in the country (first held 1845) plus two of the leading Midlands schools rowing programmes at King's School and Royal Grammar School Worcester.

Key numbers

The River Severn at Worcester - a wide, sheltered, weir-controlled stretch of around 6 km running between Diglis Lock in the city centre and Bevere Lock to the north. The locks installed in 1844 made the reach reliably navigable and turned it into proper regatta water; today it accommodates 8+, coxed and coxless fours and quads year-round and hosts the Head of the Severn each February as well as the Worcester Spring and Autumn Regattas.

Software for Worcester rowing clubs

Most of the 3 clubs above still run their boat booking, member admin, session attendance and crew lineups on a combination of spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and printed sheets on the boathouse wall. Row HQ is rowing-club management software built specifically for clubs like these.

If your committee is hitting the predictable problems - lineups in the wrong file, fees uncollected, attendance unrecorded, captain on holiday with the password - book a 30-minute demo. We've ported clubs from spreadsheets in a weekend.
