Corio Bay Rowing Club is based at 10 Barwon Terrace, South Geelong, on the Barwon River. It offers Learn to Row and recreational and competitive rowing.

The club's first official meeting was held at Geelong's Victoria Hotel on 17 June 1873 with 25 members. Its first opening-day competition followed on 10 October, and Corio Bay became a founding member of the Victorian Rowing Association in 1886.

After beginning on Corio Bay, the club moved full-time to the Barwon River in 1965. A third boat bay was added in 1988.

The Harmony Eight won the Senior Eight championship in 1947, taking the title to Geelong for the first time in 76 years. In 1948-49 the club won 14 eight-oared events and the Lightweight Premiership.

Its representative rowers include Gordon Cowey at the 1956 Olympics, David Ramage in Australia's coxless pair at the 1968 Olympics, and Jeff Sykes in the 1973 President's Cup. Corio Bay Ladies Rowing Club formed in 1973 and joined Corio Bay in 1981.

The club celebrated its 150th anniversary in May 2023 with more than 100 past and present members. The anniversary programme included naming three boats for Leisa, George Upward and the club's 150 years.
