About this club

Canning Bridge Rowing Club is the current public name used by the rowing organisation formerly presented as Murdoch University Rowing Club. It rows from The Esplanade in Mount Pleasant on the Swan and Canning rivers.

The Australian Business Register records the legal entity as Murdoch University Rowing Club Incorporated and shows it active from 27 February 2006. It records Canning Bridge Rowing Club as a registered business name from 25 November 2021, with the entity still active in Western Australia.

The club offers rowing from Learn to Row through beginner, novice, intermediate and masters levels. Members can choose competitive programs or social Saturday rows followed by breakfast or coffee.

Its four-week Learn to Row course begins with land-based introduction and progresses to water sessions and a short race. The club uses the course as the route for people without previous rowing experience.

Competitive members attend regattas at Champion Lakes, Albany, Bunbury and Canning Bridge. Crews also enter longer head races between Perth and Fremantle and from Guildford to Garratt Road, while visitors to Perth may arrange to row with the club.
