Wendouree-Ballarat Rowing Club is based at 29 Wendouree Parade beside Lake Wendouree. Its current site presents the club as part of a Ballarat rowing lineage dating to 1861 and as a community organisation supporting rowers, schools and other water-sport groups.

The direct Wendouree lineage began with a club meeting on 15 October 1883. Its history records prominent 1920s athletes including Jopling and Todd, who won multiple Victorian titles.

Members helped stage rowing at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. A club coxed pair won at the 1960 national regatta, and Wendouree crews later won Victorian country premierships in 1963 and 1964. Ballarat Rowing Club was incorporated with Wendouree in 1972 to create Wendouree-Ballarat.

The merged club won a national junior four title in 1974. Gary Gullock became Australian junior sculling champion in 1980, continuing the competitive record described in the club history.

Current programs include a term-based youth course for rowers aged 13 to 17. The club also stages a two-day annual regatta on Lake Wendouree with school, age, club and grade events, and says the February meeting is one of its major annual activities.
