About this club

Kenmare Rowing and Boat Club is a current Rowing Ireland club in Kenmare, County Kerry. The governing body's directory places it in the Munster branch and lists river rowing as its affiliation.

The club is documented in a June 2004 Dáil Éireann written answer listing sports organisations in County Kerry. No reliable source located gives an exact foundation year, so the 2004 record is treated only as evidence that the club was active by then.

Kenmare hosts racing for several sections of the sport. Its 2023 offshore regatta prospectus offered junior, masters and senior competition over 2 km and 4 km courses from Kenmare Pier, while Rowing Ireland's calendar lists the Kenmare Endurance Regatta as a 4 km coastal sculling event.

The club won two national titles in 2024. J. Kirby took the men's J16 single at the Irish Rowing Championships, and a Kenmare crew won the men's J16 coastal double at the Irish Junior Coastal Championships; J. Kirby also placed third in the coastal J18 single.

Kenmare remained active across the 2025 flat-water season, placing 24th with 149 points in Rowing Ireland's Grand League table after Skibbereen Regatta. The score included points in both men's divisions and both women's divisions.

At the 2026 Irish Rowing Championships, N. Kirby won the men's J16 single for Kenmare. The governing body's ratified 2026 calendar also retained the Kenmare Endurance Regatta as a September fixture.
