Cullinane College rowers train and race from the Union Boat Club on the Whanganui River in Whanganui, through a partnership between the college and the club.
The season starts in October and ends in March or April after the Maadi Cup. Training is always on Sunday mornings and three or four evenings a week in summer, with less in winter. Students pay a sub to the Union Boat Club that covers equipment use and some regatta entries.
Rowers take part in club regattas for the Union Boat Club and represent the college at the North Island Secondary Schools and Maadi Cup regattas. During the later part of the season, from February to April, squad members race for their school at secondary school regattas including the Whanganui School Champs.
