Ōtūmoetai College Rowing trains with Bay of Plenty Coast Rowing Club, on the Wairoa River near Bethlehem, Tauranga. The club provides the coaching, and once the school season starts the rowers also have a weekly strength and conditioning session in the school gym.
Athletes train and race at the club from June to January. At club regattas, held from November to the end of January, rowers from different schools race together for the club rather than for their school. The school season follows from February and ends with the Maadi Cup in March.
The college took 26 rowers to the 2025 Maadi Cup at Lake Karapiro. In 2026 six of its rowers, including a coxswain, were named in the Bay of Plenty under 20 interprovincial team.
