St Patrick's College Wellington rowers train at Wellington Rowing Club on the Wellington waterfront and go out on Wellington Harbour for coaching when conditions allow. The school's rowing club is one of several school clubs hosted by Wellington Rowing Club, alongside St Mary's College and Onslow College.
The season starts in Term 3 with a Learn to Row programme for novices, which ends with a trip to row on the Whanganui River. School rowers race for Wellington Rowing Club at regattas before Christmas and for the college at most regattas after Christmas.
Crews race at regattas on Lake Karapiro and at smaller local regattas on Wellington Harbour, building to the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships (Maadi Cup) in March. At the 2026 Maadi Regatta a squad of 13 rowers reached two A finals and two B finals, and the boys' novice eight won its B final.
